Monthly Sound Bath in Bromley
A monthly opportunity to put everything down, turn your attention inwards and experience the restorative power of sound.
Join me, Marie Penrose, on the last Sunday of every month at Warrior Studio, Bromley, for a guided Sound Bath Meditation accompanied by Crystal Singing Bowls, chimes and other carefully chosen instruments.
These sessions offer a little breathing room from the demands of everyday life. A chance to slow down, settle your mind and reconnect with yourself in a warm, welcoming and thoughtfully held space.
Whether you're completely new to sound baths or have been attending for years, you're welcome to come exactly as you are. No experience, particular beliefs or previous meditation practice needed.

A Sound Bath is an immersive listening experience in which carefully played instruments create layers of sound and vibration, inviting you into a state of deep rest and inward attention.
Rather than something you need to actively do, it's an opportunity to simply receive. You lie comfortably on a mat, close your eyes if you wish, and allow the sounds to become the focus of your attention. My sessions combine guided meditation with live sound, creating an experience that is both grounding and restorative.
Every session is a little different. I work intuitively, responding to the atmosphere of the room and the needs of the moment, rather than following a rigid performance or predetermined sequence.
-
My intention is to create a space where you can step outside of your usual roles and responsibilities, take off your metaphorical masks and put down some of the weight you've been carrying.
I use Crystal Singing Bowls and chimes as my main instruments, occasionally incorporating Tibetan Bowls, Ocean Drums, Tuning Forks and other sound instruments.
My approach is deliberately simple, gentle and uncluttered. I believe sound doesn't need to be complicated or overwhelming to be meaningful.
Alongside the sound itself, I incorporate guided meditation, breathwork and elements of nervous system awareness and stress management. This allows the sessions to become more than simply listening to instruments. They're opportunities to explore presence, awareness and your own relationship with rest.
You don't need to concentrate, visualise anything or try to achieve a particular state. There's nothing to get right.
Everyone experiences something different
My intention is to guide you back home to yourself.
No two sessions are exactly alike, and neither are the experiences people have within them.
Some people describe a sense of emotional release. Others experience a quieter mind, a feeling of grounding or a renewed connection with themselves.
The feedback I hear most often is that people experience a depth of rest that feels quite different from simply sitting down or taking a break.
Some participants also tell me they've slept particularly well following a session or noticed changes in how they feel in the days afterwards. These experiences are personal and vary from person to person.
Whatever your experience, there's no expectation to feel anything in particular.
More than a Sound Bath
A different approach to sound healing in Bromley
I don't put on a show or give a performance. I guide meditation journeys that use sound as a way of exploring presence, awareness and the experience of being human.
I'm an experienced Meditation Teacher, EFT Practitioner and Sound Healer, with an interest in understanding the mind, body and spirit through both scientific and spiritual perspectives.
This informs how I work. I bring together traditional contemplative practices and a grounded understanding of stress, the nervous system and our capacity to regulate and restore ourselves.
I want spiritual practices to feel accessible, relevant and rooted in real life. You don't need to subscribe to a particular philosophy or believe in anything to benefit from taking time to be still and listen.
The experience doesn't end when the sound does
After the meditation, there's no rush to pack up and leave.
I often pull a tarot card for the collective in the room, offering a little reflection to take away from the evening.
Herbal teas are available, and there's time for optional conversation and community connection. Some people enjoy staying to chat, while others prefer to leave quietly and have a little time to themselves.
Both are equally welcome. There's never any pressure to stay, share or explain your experience.

I'm Marie Penrose, a Meditation Teacher, EFT Practitioner and Sound Healer based in Bromley.
My purpose is to create spaces where people can truly unwind, take off their masks, put down the weight of what they've been carrying and reconnect with their own sense of being.
I believe there's something incredibly valuable in creating opportunities to step away from the constant demands of modern life and simply experience what it feels like to be present.
My teaching brings together practical meditation, sound, self-awareness and spirituality in a way that feels accessible rather than abstract.
I guide people towards feeling more grounded, balanced and connected, encouraging moments of calm and gentle awakening through guided meditation and Sound Medicine.
Above all, I want people to feel comfortable being themselves. You don't have to arrive in a particular mood, have a particular mindset or leave feeling like a different person.
You just have to arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Still have a question?
I'd love to hear from you. Whether you're new to meditation, curious about Sound Baths or simply want to check something before booking, you're welcome to get in touch.
-
Street parking on Southlands Road is free during the Sunday Sound Bath.

The Sound Bath is experienced lying down on a yoga mat. However, you don't have to remain completely still throughout the session. You're welcome to readjust, stretch or roll onto your side whenever you need to get comfortable.
If you have physical pain or discomfort that makes lying on the floor difficult, there are a limited number of chairs available. Please let me know beforehand so I can help arrange this.
-
It's very common to fall asleep during a Sound Bath. The deeply relaxing nature of the experience means that some people naturally drift off, and that's absolutely fine.
If you tend to snore, lying on your side can sometimes help. Before we begin, I'll also check whether everyone is comfortable with a neighbour giving them a gentle nudge if their snoring becomes disruptive.
If you would prefer not to be nudged, just let me know beforehand. I may also introduce some slightly more activating sounds if I notice someone has drifted into a particularly deep sleep.
There's no embarrassment in falling asleep. It's a perfectly normal response to feeling relaxed.
-
Emotional release can happen in different ways, and crying is a completely normal human response.
If you find yourself becoming emotional, please know that you're safe to experience that without judgement. Tissues are provided, and I'll discreetly pass you one if needed.
If you feel you need some space, you're welcome to step outside. If you find yourself becoming particularly vocal, I'll simply ask that you respectfully move to the bathroom or reception area so that others can continue their experience undisturbed.
There is absolutely no judgement.
-
No. I don't use hands-on somatic techniques or physical touch during these particular Sound Baths.
I also don't walk around the room playing instruments. Everything can be heard comfortably from all positions in the studio, and I prefer to give everyone their own space and the reassurance of knowing what to expect.
-
You're always in control of your own experience, and if you genuinely need to leave, you should never feel obliged to stay somewhere out of politeness.
However, because of the nature of the session and the shared environment, I ask that you only book if you can reasonably commit to the full 50 minutes.
-
Not at all. These sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as those who already have an established meditation or sound healing practice.
You don't need to know what to do, understand the instruments or have any particular spiritual beliefs.
